If a panel is 0.031 inch (0.79 mm) thick and you grind off 0.024 inch (0.61 mm) of metal, how thick is the remaining panel measured in inches and in millimeters?

Solution:

Customary: 0.031 – 0.024 = 0.007 inch
Metric: 0.79 – 0.61 = 0.18 mm
